How to use a gay dating app discreetly
Updated · 4 min read · Zynger team
Plenty of men aren’t out to everyone in their lives, and that’s their call to make. Here’s how to keep a dating app private, using the tools built into Zynger.
Hide the app on your phone
Zynger’s Discreet icon lets the app appear as Notes, Weather or Calculator on your home screen. Turn it on under You → Privacy & safety → Discreet icon.
Add App Lock (PIN or fingerprint) so nobody can open Zynger even if they pick up your unlocked phone.
Control what others see
You decide how visible you are:
- Hide your distance so others don’t see how far away you are.
- Turn Viewed Me off if you don’t want visits to show up.
- Appear offline whenever you want a quiet moment.
- Use a face-free main photo and keep face photos in a private album.
Share photos carefully
Zynger blocks screenshots on every screen, including chats and albums. Private albums let you choose exactly who sees which photos, and view-once photos disappear after they’re opened. Even so, only share what you’re comfortable with.
Notifications and shared devices
If others see your phone, turn off message previews in your phone’s notification settings or choose which Zynger alerts you receive in Settings → Notifications.
